RIFNA’s mission is simple -- to promote affordable equine activities in the public and private middle and high schools for students of all economic backgrounds and all riding levels. To accomplish this, RIFNA offers equestrian enthusiasts in grades 6 - 12 the opportunity to participate in equine sports by:
§ Participating in an organized equestrian club, sanctioned by RIFNA
§ Taking affordable riding lessons in up to three disciplines (Western, Dressage, Hunter/Equitation) from a RIFNA certified Coach
§ Riding and competing at RIFNA accredited facilities that meet stringent safety standards
§ Gaining show experience and confidence by competing in RIFNA sponsored meets and shows locally and nationally
§ Being recognized as athletes in their schools by working with the state governing board to meet the requirements necessary to become a sport
§ Gaining access to various sources of college funding, including the awarding of scholarships directly from RIFNA
§ Learning the basics of barn management by involving students in the day-to-day care of the horse, horse stall, and equipment
§ Attending educational clinics to further the student’s knowledge of horses and horseback riding
